DOG PAINTING
Golden
Golden is a portrait of my own dog, Archie, and one of the first paintings where I experimented with changing the way I created my acrylic poured backgrounds. Normally, I would leave the canvas flat while the paint dried, but for this piece I propped the canvas upright, allowing the paint to flow differently and create more movement within the background. Once the abstract layers were complete, I painted Archie in the foreground using my signature non-blended acrylic painting technique.
Rather than blending colours together to create a realistic finish, I prefer to leave individual brush strokes visible throughout the painting. For me, these marks are what give a piece energy, personality and character. I am not trying to create a photographic copy of the subject; instead, I want the viewer to see the painting process itself. Golden captures both the happy nature of a golden retriever and the expressive style that defines my contemporary animal paintings and pet portrait artwork.
ENGLISH FINE ARTIST
About the Artist
Creativity has been part of my life from the very beginning. Born in 1993, I grew up in a family where artistic expression was always valued. My grandfather was a talented calligrapher and watercolour artist, while my father is a poet, so I was surrounded by creativity, imagination and storytelling from an early age.
That passion led me to study Art and Graphic Design at high school before continuing my education at college, where I explored Art, Graphic Design and Filmmaking. These experiences gave me a broad understanding of visual communication, design principles and creative storytelling.
Today, I work in marketing, where I combine creativity with strategy to create engaging content, build strong brands.
